For pretty much every device with a dedicated forum here on XDA, you’ll find all the tools and guides you could ever need to root your way into device freedom. Sure, some devices are a bit harder than others. But since the first step in device customization is achieving root, even the most locked down devices are eventually conquered.
However, there isn’t always a dedicated thread or forum for your device. Now, XDA Senior Member alephzain brings us an easy, one-click rooting app that should be able to root a large number of devices. The app works by allowing users to selectively apply previously created root exploits, depending on the device platform. Currently, there are methods supporting OMAP 3, Exynos 4, Qualcomm, various Mediatek platforms, and more.
Needless to say, if your device already has a section here with proven methods, we highly recommend that you stick with the tried and true. And for example if you have a Nexus device, you should be using fastboot oem unlock anyway, as they’re made for that. It is also very important to keep in mind that since various different root exploits are being used, your mileage may vary. Furthermore, if you’re trying this on an untested device, beware that your efforts may turn your expensive toy into a paperweight. In other words, proceed only if you can stand the thought of possibly losing your device.
If you’ve read the above risks and still want to give this a shot, head over to the original thread to get started.
