Netflix adds AirPlay support and HD streaming in latest iOS version

Netflix just released its iOS 7 app, and though the design hasn’t changed, two important features have been added to make watching content even better.

The company has finally added AirPlay streaming, not just through mirroring but using the actual protocol, which allows users to perform other tasks while they watch TV shows and movies on their Apple TV-connected televisions.

At the same time, the company has implemented HD streaming for its iOS users, something that was sorely missing from the version, especially since it came to Android via the Nexus 7 in July. An initial test of the app reveals much smoother scrolling through titles and categories, and though it lacks the design polish of some of iOS 7′s newest app overhauls, it still looks great on both the smaller iPhone and larger iPads.
