Do you remember Lucid Launcher? We featured this indie launcher a few weeks ago right here on the XDA Portal. XDA Senior Member powerpoint45 made a video series detailing its creation. And then on Valentine’s Day, the developer decided to update the application and add some love in the form of a few new features. The application also changed its status from alpha to beta, so it should be considerably more stable.

unnamedUnlike the previous batch of updates for Google’s apps, there are no directly user-facing changes that we have observed thus far. The UI and menus all appear to be the same, as well as gross functionality. However, the update brings a couple of crash fixes that could potentially make your browser experience a tad better, as well as a more mysterious fix:

Holo UI has become an integral part of Android ever since the the launch of version 3.0 Honeycomb. Its visual styling has earned quite a few fans, as well as many who actually dislike it. A few days ago, we talked about the Holofication Nation project, where developers are transforming well known applications to better fit the Holo style. Now it’s time to continue this journey and further ‘Holo-ify’ your device.

Not too long ago, XDA Recognized Developer rovo89‘s Xposed Framework (thread) was updated to add support for several new platforms. Among those to benefit were MIUI users. With version 2.3, anyone running a MIUI ROM based on Android 4.0 or later could access the almost endless tweaks housed within the hundreds of Xposed modules currently available. Naturally, however, not every available module works perfectly on dramatically different ROMs such as ones based on MIUI.

Starting with Holo UI’s debut in Android 3.0 Honeycomb on the Motorola Xoom, Google has made great strides in bringing top-notch UI design to the platform. Better typography, flat design, and a chromeless (but still pretty) look are all now relatively commonplace thanks largely in part to Matias Duarte’s handiwork.

Back in June, we took a quick look at Ultimate Dynamic NavBar by XDA Senior Member MrBIMC. The application was originally created to solve one of the most common complaints with the on-screen navigation bars most prominently seen on Google Nexus devices. The app was created to replace the ever present on-screen navigation bar with a panel that is only visible when you want it to be.

We first talked about Slide2wake with Touchcontrol in June of last year. Back then, the app only supported the Samsung Galaxy Nexus, and many users wanted this functionality extended to other devices. XDA Recognized Developer bponury released a substantial update to his Touchcontrol app, adding support for the Nexus 4  and the Nexus 7 (2013) as well.

Not too long ago, we featured a method posted by XDA Senior Member soloilmeglio that allows Samsung Galaxy Note 3 users to add Floating Pen Window functionality to any app. While immensely useful, adding applications was unfortunately a rather cumbersome task, requiring the modification of a certain CSC file. Thankfully, XDA Recognized Developer xperiacle has now created an application that does all the work for you, enabling you to add Floating Pen Window functionality to any app with just a few clicks.
